This is our top-level category; looking at it another way, it is the root category.
Ideally, every other category should be a subcategory of at least one other, and every article should be in at least one category; many will fit well into two or more (e.g. location, year, and subject-matter).
The "Content" category is intended for all articles about the subject matter of the wiki, whilst "Organisation" is intended for all administrative matters. A full list of existing categories can be found at Special:Categories.
To add a new category to a page, just add
[[Category:Categoryname]] to the end of the article or existing category page.
Or, Choose a categpry in "Categories" box in right margin in visual mode of the Editor. Or, If page editor is closed, choose a category in in the "Add Category" section on the bottom of the page.
- DIRECTIONS: Begin to type it the category name that you want and choose from option list that pops up. This only works if there is a previously made category. If the category is is a new category, then you type the full name in—make sure its capped and exactly what name you want to use for the category title—hit Return key. When you save (Publish) the, you must got to the bottom of the page and choose that new category, open it and hit the create button. Type its name on the top and write an explanation if warranted. And, this is important, add a category in the category box on he right. You can pick as many as fit, but one MUST be "Browse" the root category.
